Equinox Marine can attend any size vessel. The time to accurately assess and compensate a compass varies, however the time should not exceed two hours. The vessel must leave the quay to manoeuvre around the compass headings (swinging the compass). During this swing, the vessel’s magnetic heading is determined by distant bearings, sun azimuths or other appropriate methods.

For “blind” autopilot compasses and peculiarly sited compasses on steel boats, a remote sensing magnetometer is used during the compensation to allow the identification and correction of all the deviating forces influencing the compass.

Equinox Marine operates in Central and South Queensland, however we can recommend registering with www.CompassAdjuster.com.au to have your vessel's compass swung in all other Australian ports.
